In this issue:
Continuing our look at Romans 12, we actually jump back to the opening of the chapter. In the last two newsletters we covered the call to love genuinely, being spiritually resilient through joyous hope, patience and constant prayer. We were called to meet the needs of others, blessing our persecutors and humbling ourselves. We were called to live peaceably with others, and not to take justice into our own hands, but instead trusting the Lord. We were called to overcome evil with good.
But how do we do these things that seem so counter to our natures? Our sinful flesh constantly presses us in opposition to God's calling here... How do we stand firm? Certainly not within our own power, but instead through the transforming, renewing, sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.
Consider today the opening of the chapter, Romans 12:1-2 (ESV):
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Panama Short Term Mission Trip || 1/31/26 - 2/7/26
The Springs Church is headed back to Panama this weekend. Our medical and pastoral training team will be traveling from January 31 - February 7. This is an all church effort, so please be praying for their final preparations as well as for the time they are in Panama.
Pray First || 2/1/26 || The Springs Room 124
Come pray with us this Sunday, February 1st! “Pray First” is a once-a-month prayer rally for our entire church family. We’ll pray from 8:15 - 8:45 AM on the first Sunday morning of each month in Rm 124. Not only will this start our Sunday morning off right, but this will be a regular declaration to the Lord that The Springs Church is dependent on Him for all things! Adults, youth, kids…let’s all join together and Pray First.
Pickleball - Open Play and Learn How to Play || 2/3, 3/3, 4/7 & 5/5 || 4:30 - 6:00 PM for Families AND 6:00 - 7:30 PM for 16 and older || The Springs Church Gym (Upstairs)

Men, 2nd Wednesday is Coming! || 2/11/26 || 6:30 – 7:35 AM || The Springs Fireside Room
Pornography is a struggle many men face, affecting our hearts, our relationship with the Lord, and the people around us. Men, join us for 2nd Wednesday as we take an honest and courageous look at one of the greatest threats to living as disciples of Jesus. This month, we’ll be both encouraged and challenged as we talk openly about the battle, the cost, and—most importantly—the hope we have in Christ. Jesus meets us in the struggle through His Word, His grace, His people and His power to bring freedom and healing to our souls. This is a chance to gather with other men who desire to follow Jesus with integrity, humility, and courage. Wednesday, February 11th at 6:30 AM — coffee provided. Come ready to be encouraged, challenged, and strengthened together.
Prom Through the Ages: Valentine Date Night || 2/14/26 || 5:30 - 9:00 PM
Women’s Ministry invites you to join us for a couples' date night. Added to the fun we have made it a prom theme. So come wearing your best prom attire - from any decade. We will enjoy dinner, dancing, and games. Sign up in the lobby or by email. We hope to see you there!
When: February 14th, 5:30 - 9:00 PM
Where: The Springs Church in the Worship Center
Attire: Any decade of prom-wear or fancy apparel (thrift/borrow/rent)
Cost: $25 with an added $10 IF needing childcare. Pay the night of the event - cash/check/venmo
Deadline: February 4th - MUST sign up to attend

Weather Cancellations & Postponements
When the weather outside is frightful, please be sure to check The Springs Facebook page before beginning your trip to church! We will be posting cancellations and postponements of scheduled services when needed. We will also send out a message via Realm and text. We will also use the same method if we have a need to alter our weekend services due to other factors such as power outages, etc. If Springfield schools are closed during the week, the church office and building will also be closed.
