This Saturday, we celebrate Independence Day as our nation marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

In the midst of grilling, time with family and friends, watersports, and fireworks, I hope we'll also pause to give thanks for the many blessings God has graciously given us. Few Christians throughout history have enjoyed the freedoms we have to gather openly for worship and to pursue Christ's mission of making disciples and proclaiming the gospel to the ends of the earth.

As followers of Jesus, we remember that our first and eternal citizenship is in heaven. Yet while God has placed us here, we gratefully receive the blessings and responsibilities of living in America. And as we celebrate, lets us also pray for our nation—that we would become a "more perfect union" as more and more people humble themselves before the true King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Happy Independence Day!

Pastor Zach

NO Pray First on Sunday, July 5th
Due to Independence weekend, we will postpone Pray First. We look forward to being together again for Pray First on Sunday, August 2nd.

Family Ministry 4th of July Weekend Schedule
Due to the 4th of July weekend, this Sunday, July 5th is a Family Worship Sunday; we will not have our regular programming for Kindergarten-12th Grade. (Nursery through Preschool will still be provided during both services.) We are excited to welcome the K-12th graders into our worship services this week. Please keep an eye out for them and make sure they feel welcome!

Office Closed July 6th
Church offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

Please Pray for CentriKid Camp
Please be praying for some of our 3rd-6th grade elementary students and adult sponsors who will be attending CentriKid Camp at SBU on July 6-10. They will be learning about The Great Storyteller. They will discover Him as the author of all things, the author of salvation, the author of truth, the author of joy and the author of the future. Most importantly, they will be encouraged to love God and love others, place God first, live a holy life, and share the Gospel. It will be an exciting and fun time! Please pray for students to have open and soft hearts to listen to God, and of course please pray for their safety and protection at camp!

Men, 2nd Wednesday is Coming! || 7/8 || 6:30 - 7:35 AM || The Springs Fireside Room
Men, we hope you'll plan to join us on July 8th at 6:30 AM for our July Men's 2nd Wednesday gathering! Father's Day may be past, but we will be building on our June session as Jacob Fox leads us in part two of a discussion on Fathers - this time focusing on what it looks like to live out biblical fatherhood. Come ready for some great dialogue, coffee, and snacks! We'll see you there!

Women's Ministry's "Summer Spark" || 7/11 || 7:00 PM || Liz Logan's Home
Ladies, join us for this fun, joy-filled gathering where women can spark new friendships, ignite their faith, gather to connect, grow and support each other. Information cards are available in the Lobby! Please bring a camping chair and a dessert or drinks to share!

Men's Ministry's "Thriller from the Griller" || 7/17 || 6:00 - 9:00 PM || The Gym
What's the "Thriller from the Griller" you ask?? It's an event for men at The Springs to enjoy an epic movie together while eating some incredible BBQ. This year we will be watching Angel Studio's "Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Spy, Assassin" and having our annual Grilling Competition! The movie details the life of WWII era German Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a man who showed incredible faith and commitment to Christ in the face of great evil. We hope you will plan to join us on Friday, July 17th from 6:00 - 9:00 PM in the gym! Be sure to look for the sign up in the lobby to let us know you're coming and if you'd also like to contribute to the grilling and compete for the chance to be crowned champion of the grillers!
If you have questions or are unable to sign up in the lobby, please contact either Josh Zinner (816-550-1615) or Trent Moberly (309-830-8094).

Summer in the Psalms - God's Playlist
Did you know that the Psalms are actually divided into five books? Now through August 30th, The Springs will be reading through the fourth book of the Psalms, which includes chapters 90-106. This initiative will be a great way to spend some daily time in the Word and will be a great study for new to seasoned believers alike. We are also excited to spend time in the same book together as a congregation!

Bookmarks for the summer reading plan are now available in the Lobby!

*There will also be a Summer in the Psalms Sunday morning class available from July 12th to August 30th at 10:30 AM in Room 120/122.
