There are many different decorations we tend to use in our holiday celebrations; some lights, some greenery, snowflakes and shiny things. But the one that I think tends to refocus our sights on the reason for the season is the nativity scene. We have a couple of wonderful nativity scenes in our lobby that I've loved looking at every time I've walked by. While the craftsmanship of the materials, colors, and design have artistic value, the core idea of the nativity is its simplicity. It depicts a simple place, no trappings of royalty. Simple people, a carpenter and his laboring wife taking what shelter they could find. A simple cradle, an animal trough with nothing but swaddling clothes for warmth. This is how Christ entered the world, a king stepping down from heaven into the most humble place imaginable. As Christmas nears, I always enjoy this quote from The Chronicles of Narnia, "The Last Battle" By C. S. Lewis:

"Yes," said Queen Lucy. "In our world too, a stable once had something inside it that was bigger than our whole world."

Holiday Office Schedule || 12/23/2025 - 1/1/2026

Our church offices will be closed at noon on Tuesday, December 23rd through Thursday, January 1st. We'll be back in the office on Monday, January 5th. Throughout the week one of our pastors will be available should any pastoral care needs arise for you. Please reach out to let us know.

Men’s Ministry Workday || 1/10/2026
Brothers, here’s a chance to make a real and immediate impact for the kingdom—right here at home. Matt Watson and the Men’s Ministry Team are calling on all Christian men to step up, lean in, and work shoulder to shoulder as we care for our church building and the ministry it supports.
We have several projects that need to get done, and your hands, your strength, and your willingness matter. This is more than a workday—it’s an opportunity to serve, to lead by example, and to invest in the place where God is shaping lives every week.
Whether you’re handy with tools or just ready to help, your presence makes a difference. Let’s show up, stand together, and get the job done—faithfully, joyfully, and with purpose.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 10, and come be part of something that strengthens our church family in a tangible way. We’ll see you there, ready to build, serve, and make an impact!

Winter Groups and Ministry Kickoff || Week of 1/11/2026
All of our GROUPS and MINISTRIES will be kicking off! To find out more about how you can get involved this winter, pick up one of the brochures available in the Lobby. We are looking forward to an exciting winter full of opportunities to connect and grow in your walk with the Lord!

End of Year Giving
As we approach the end of our fiscal year, we are always deeply grateful for special year-end gifts the Lord may lead you to make (*see below for current financials). These gifts help us to finish the year strong as well as to prepare for an exciting year of ministry ahead. Year-end gifts must be dated or postmarked by December 31st in order to be credited to 2025! You can also give online: https://thesprings.church/give. As always, thank you to everyone for your joyful, generous and faithful giving to the Lord at The Springs in 2025.

Nominating Committee
Our Nominating Committee is convened to consider officers to serve in leadership at The Springs. Our nominating committee is Tom Semmelbeck, Reada Acheson, Syne Altena, Dave Leuthy, Mark Logan, Kim Liss and Marissa Withers. If you have nominations for the role of Elder or Deacon (we have 1 vacancy on each board) please place them in "The Box" in the lobby, attention "Nominating Committee." Please pray for the Lord to guide our nominating committee and for the Lord's will as leaders are selected to be presented for voting at our annual meeting.
