November is almost here, and it's full steam ahead through the holidays and to the end of the year. It can often be a bit jarring to look at the calendar and realize that the year is almost spent. There are goals we set that we never reached, opportunities we never pursued, and fleeting moments we wish we had savored. It's a common feeling to reach the year's end with more than a few "what ifs" lingering in mind. And while there may be areas where we know we need to improve and grow, as believers we can hold to this encouraging thought: God has set our course purposefully, even (and especially) in the minutia and mundane moments that we have difficulty seeing as "progress".

I am reminded of several times in scripture, from Joseph's conversations with his brothers about God's use of his brothers' malice to bring about salvation to the acknowledgement of God's timing in Ecclesiastes 3:1-15. We see Paul describe what it looks like to find freedom in God's timing and plans in his letter to the Philippians 4:11-13:

"Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I am, to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Paul knew that God would meet his needs, and direct him in his work. God had put Paul in the places He intended him to be, and at the times He had purposed for him. We know from Ephesians 2 that God has prepared us for the good works He has laid before us, and from Proverbs 3 that He directs our paths. So find peace and take joy in knowing that, as you follow Jesus one step at a time, that your paths may not lead where you expect, and the pace of the journey may not fit your calendar. Instead of focusing on whether or not you reached the place you wanted to be, take time and reflect on where God has brought you and the things you have seen Him do along the way. You're likely to find a great number of things to add to your Thanksgiving "thankful for" list.

Daylight Savings || 11/2/25
Don’t forget on Sunday, November 2nd, Daylight Savings Time ends! Set your clocks BACK so you don’t miss a minute of great fellowship!

Pray First || 11/2/25 || The Springs Room 124
Come pray with us this Sunday, November 2nd! “Pray First” is a once-a-month prayer rally for our entire church family. We’ll pray from 8:15 - 8:45 AM on the first Sunday morning of each month in Rm 124. Not only will this start our Sunday morning off right, but this will be a regular declaration to the Lord that The Springs Church is dependent on Him for all things! Adults, youth, kids…let’s all join together and Pray First.

Ladies, join us for Crafternoons! || 11/8/25 || 1:00 - 4:00 PM || The Porch at The Springs
Crafternoons is an open house time for fellowship where women can bring their own craft (BYOC) and chat. Women can bring crafts or other projects to work on.
We will meet in The Porch (the Women's Ministry Room) every month on the 2nd Saturday. It's a come as you want, leave as you need from 1:00 - 4:00 PM.

Thanksgiving Baskets - Be a Blessing this Thanksgiving! || Deadline 11/17/25
As Thanksgiving approaches, we’re reminded of how much we have to be grateful to the Lord for — and how powerful it is to share that gratitude with others. Over the past several years, our church family has had the privilege of being good neighbors by providing 13 Thanksgiving baskets for families in need at Ozark West Elementary School.
This year, as grocery costs continue to rise, our kindness and generosity can make an even greater impact. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us — as an individual, family, or small group — to provide a basket filled with Thanksgiving essentials? Each basket will bless a local family with a full meal and a reminder of God’s love and care through His people.
Drop-off Details:
  • Monday, November 24th
  • 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM
  • Back door of Ozark West Elementary
To sign up, simply email Pastor Tom at tom@thesprings.church or visit the Sign-Up Table in the lobby.
Let’s come together to share the joy of Thanksgiving — shining the light of Christ and reminding our neighbors that they are seen, loved, and not alone.
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
— Matthew 5:16
