The season of summer is often thought to be a time of vacations, relaxation and recreation, yet the calendar always seems to fill up so quickly! This has been true here at the Springs as well. Over the course of this summer, many of us here at the Springs have had the opportunity to step into a service role, whether that be through our Men's and Women's events, Family Bible Camp, CentriKid, Youth Missions Trip and more. We've also heard from some of our missions partners like the A Family and Saavedras on what God is doing on the field across the globe.

With each of these events, we've encouraged those who are unable to serve directly to "partner" with those involved in prayer and giving. That partnership is needful and impactful in these ministries, but sometimes it can seem like you're being given busy work, some way to feel like you're participating; like a child being included so they feel useful. That couldn't be further from the truth!

To get a glimpse of how vital prayer and support are to ministry, take a look at Paul's letter to the Phillipians.

Philippians 1:3-11 - I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

And that's just the opening to his letter! He goes on to mention how the prayers and support of those in Philippi gave him courage to speak the gospel boldly, and how through his imprisonment many were hearing the gospel, including many in the Roman military. When he closes the letter, he commends their faithfulness in supporting his work when other churches had not! Paul did not see the church in Philippi as dutiful participants; they were partnered hand-in-hand with him for the work of the gospel.

Next week, some of our men are traveling to Panama to help with the IBAC pastoral training there. While the rest of us will be staying behind, we all have the opportunity to partner with them in prayer as they make this journey. Let us not take that for granted, but take joy that the same God doing a work in Panama is the God who hears our prayers here and now!

Summer in the Psalms - God's Playlist
Did you know that the Psalms are actually divided into five books? Now through August 31, The Springs will be reading through the third book of the Psalms, which includes chapters 73-89. This initiative will be a great way to spend some daily time in the Word and will be a great study for new to seasoned believers alike. We are also excited to spend time in the same book together as a congregation!
*Bookmarks for the summer reading plan are available in the Lobby!

Summer in the Psalms Sunday Morning Class || Now - 8/24 || 10:30 AM || Rm 120/122
Over the summer our church family will be working our way through the third section of the Psalms by using a summer reading plan & through our weekly sermons. To enrich our experience in the Psalms we will be providing a 7 week discussion based class from July 13-August 24 at 10:30 AM. The focus of this time will be to discuss both the Psalms from the previous weeks readings as well as process the sermon from the 9:00 AM service. This class will be led by Pastors & Elders. Whether you’re new to The Springs or have been here a while, this is a great place for discussion, growth & fellowship. We hope you’ll stop by!
