In this issue:
With the turbulent events happening on the world stage... wars, discord, corruption and sickness... peace can seem elusive. How do we find peace with such unrest? How can we rest with danger around every turn? Is there any relief forthcoming?
I am reminded of a passage we discussed just a short time ago in Family Bible Camp:"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." (John 14:27 ESV)
It's easy to feel "at peace" when things are going well around us, but that is not "peace", but ease, *relative* safety. And that ease is the closest thing this world has to offer to real peace. So what is the peace that Jesus is talking about, that is unlike the world's "peace"? In the context of the passage, He describes the Holy Spirit as the source of that peace, and in the chapters that follow, He explains it to his disciples like so:"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33 ESV)
Peace is not found in the absence of trouble, but instead in the recognition that no trouble can overcome the Lord to whom you belong. Though things around are turbulent and you can't imagine what tomorrow may bring, take heart. Your Savior, who holds tomorrow and whose Spirit is within you, has overcome the world.

Summer in the Psalms - God's Playlist
Did you know that the Psalms are actually divided into five books? Starting this Sunday, June 22nd, The Springs will be reading through the third book of the Psalms, which includes chapters 73-89. This initiative will be a great way to spend some daily time in the Word and will be a great study for new to seasoned believers alike. We are also excited to spend time in the same book together as a congregation!
Bookmarks for the summer reading plan are now available in the Lobby!
*There will also be a Summer in the Psalms Sunday morning class available from July 13th through August 24th at 10:30 AM.
2nd Wednesday, "Engaging the Battle for Our Souls" || 7/9 || 6:30 AM || The Springs
Men, we live in an angry world; a world that encourages outrage and is easily offended at every turn. Often men live with anger throughout their lives and it is this anger that undermines their relationship with God, their wives, and their children, as well as robs them from the freedom they have been given in Christ. Please join us in the fireside room on Wednesday July 9th at 6:30 AM as we focus on the issue of anger and in doing so engage the battle for our souls.
